A strong corporate lawyer and the co-founder of LINER LAW, Yegan has more than 16 years of significant transactional and regulatory experience in M&A projects particularly in the areas of energy, infrastructure, transportation, metals&mining, construction, healthcare and banking. Before establishing LINER LAW, Yegan led the Corporate/M&A department of a leading Turkish law firm where she represented mainly international clients and was involved in international mergers and acquisitions, joint venture, tender offers, asset purchases as well as privatizations. With her knowledge and experience on Turkish corporate and commerical law, her attention to detail and business oriented approach, she is listed as “highly regarded” by IFLR 1000 for her M&A practice and introduced by her clients as “very discerning; she organised her team well, discussed the risks and considered “out of the box” solutions” on Legal 500.
Yegan was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to pursue law studies at The George Washington University Law School, where she received an LL.M degree. She also holds a second LL.M degree in corporate law from Galatasaray University where she also completed her undergraduate legal education. In the course of her masters and doctorate studies at Galatasaray University, Yegan was involved in the publication of various academic studies.
An effective communicator and a skillful legal advisor, Zeynep is the co-founder of LINER LAW. Active in top tier corporate and M&A practice since 2012, Zeynep has comprehensive experience advising international clients on legal matters regarding cross-border investments in Turkey in sectors such as renewable energy, mining, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, industrial manufacturing, transportation, retail and consumer goods, e-commerce and financial services. Prior to LINER LAW, Zeynep was a partner in the Corporate/M&A department of a leading Turkish law firm where she represented clients in cross border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, asset purchases and commercial agreements. Zeynep also led the Competition practice at the same firm, advising clients in merger clearance notifications and negative clearance/exemption applications before the Turkish Competition Board, as well as regarding vertical and horizontal agreements.
In addition to her Turkey-based expertise, Zeynep is a US qualified lawyer and a member of the Massachusetts bar. During her law school career, she served as the president of the Harvard European Law Association, as well as being a part of the Advocates for Human Rights. Her clinical experience includes in-depth projects with the Berkman Center for Internet & Society Cyberlaw Clinic and the Harvard Negotiation and Mediation Clinical Program.
